About Us
Sydney Foil School was created to make foiling more accessible, less intimidating, and genuinely enjoyable.
Foiling is one of the most exciting developments in water sports, but learning it without guidance can be frustrating and slow. Our approach is simple: personalised coaching, clear instruction, and a calm, supportive environment that lets you focus on enjoying the experience.
Head Instructor - Will
Will is our head instructor here at Sydney Foil School. He has over 10 years of foiling experience across a range of disciplines and is truly passionate about helping people see progression within their own watersports journeys.

Swimwear or a wetsuit
Towel and sunscreen
Water
Hat and sunglasses (optional)
Everything else needed for the session is provided.

You’re also welcome to bring your own gear if you already have it.
-
Locations are chosen based on wind direction, water conditions, and your experience level. Having multiple locations allows us to select the safest and most suitable spot on the day. Our locations are at Kurnell and Monterey.
-
If conditions aren’t suitable, your lesson will be rescheduled. Safety and quality are always prioritised, and we aim to teach only when conditions are appropriate for learning.
-
Everyone learns at a different pace, but most beginners start feeling comfortable with the wing and board within their first few sessions. Getting up and flying on the foil usually takes a bit longer, which is why we focus on solid foundations and gradual progression.
-
Wingfoiling looks complex, but with the right coaching and conditions it’s very achievable. Lessons are structured to break the sport down into simple steps, keeping things fun and manageable rather than overwhelming.
